Description
This advanced training program will cover the basic concepts and techniques of intermediate turning. Participants will get the opportunity to practice hands-on and directly apply what they learn, helping them gain the confidence and skill needed to succeed in the field of advanced turning.
What Will I Learn?
- Basic Turning Review: Understanding lathe concepts, types of lathe machines, and components.
- Hand Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with the use of basic hand tools in lathe operations.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety controls, accident prevention, and appropriate safety clothing.
- Maintenance Skills: Ability to perform regular maintenance on machines and tools.
- Measuring Tool Training: Proficiency in using various measuring tools, including vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and dial indicators.
- Workpiece Installation: Skills in fixing and installing workpieces of various sizes and shapes, including complex configurations.
- Lathe Operations: Competence in performing a wide range of lathe operations, including external and internal lathing, carving, beveling, and threading (both manual and machine).
- Machine Preparation: Skills in preparing the lathe for operation, selecting tools, determining appropriate speeds, and preparing coolant.
- Material Application: Experience in applying lathe operations across different metals, including aluminum and various types of iron.
- Practical Production: Ability to produce engineered components and control dimensions and thickness through accurate measurements.
- Finishing Techniques: Skills in trimming edges, polishing surfaces, and enhancing the final appearance of workpieces.
